Celtic Prophets No.1
Own a piece of ancient history. This striking Forest Spirit is hand-carved from genuine Bog Oak—wood that has been buried and perfectly preserved in peat bogs for thousands of years. The unique, near-black hue and dense, stone-like texture are completely natural, created by the centuries-long interaction between the wood’s tannins and the minerals in the bog.
The natural, rugged bark left at the top forms a majestic crown, contrasting beautifully with the smooth, serene face carved below. With his peaceful, closed eyes, this spirit looks as though he has just woken from a millennia-long slumber.
Hand carved and wax finished by hand in Co. Tipperary, Ireland.

Most sculptures are made for indoor use and have a wax finish. This can be freshened with a smooth clean cloth and a touch up of wax applied when necessary.
All the wood used in the sculptures in this shop has been sourced in Ireland, Tipperary if possible as that is where the shop is located. The wood is either taken from bogs and reclaimed land where it has been buried for thousands of years or more recent wood is from trees which have fallen or died. This ensures that the sculpture you order is as fully sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible.
