A Piece of Ancient Ireland for Your Home
This hand-sculpted piece is crafted from authentic Irish Bog Oak, a rare timber that has been preserved for millennia in the peat bogs of Ireland. The deep, charcoal-black finish is a natural result of the wood’s interaction with the minerals in the bog over thousands of years.
The Design:
This particular sculpture features a striking, rugged texture and a prominent natural knot that serves as a focal point. I have carefully cleaned, sanded, and finished the wood to highlight its organic flow while preserving the raw, wild character of the original find. It stands as a tall, slender "Sentinel," perfect for a mantelpiece, bookshelf, or desk.

Most sculptures are made for indoor use and have a wax finish. This can be freshened with a smooth clean cloth and a touch up of wax applied when necessary.
All the wood used in the sculptures in this shop has been sourced in Ireland, Tipperary if possible as that is where the shop is located. The wood is either taken from bogs and reclaimed land where it has been buried for thousands of years or more recent wood is from trees which have fallen or died. This ensures that the sculpture you order is as fully sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible.
